Course Objectives:
Introduction to the student with classical and modern geodetic technologies, geodetic instruments and methods for determining spatial coordinates of points on the earth’s surface and below it.
Learning Outcomes:
Independent use of geodetic instruments and determination of spatial coordinates on the earth’s surface and below and using 2D and 3D analog and digital plans and maps for different engineering needs.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introduction. Measuring units, instruments and types of instruments, measurements and types of measurements. Instruments and accessories for measuring angles. Theodolite, types of theodolites, constituents, conditions and rectification. Angle Measurement Methods. Centering and horizontal instrumentation, methods of measuring horizontal angles, methods of measuring vertical angles, processing of measurement results. Instruments and accessories for measuring length. Panty, optical, electronic instruments, instruments for the indirect determination of length. Methods of measuring length. Measurement of length with pants, optical, base, electro optical, electronic, laser distance meters. Indirect measurement length. Processing the measurement results. Instruments and accessories for measuring height differences and altitudes. Instruments, instruments for geometric leveling, instruments for trigonometric level of classical workmanship, automated and digitized. Methods for measuring height difference and height. Methods of measuring instruments for determination of height differences (hydrostatic, barometric, ...), instruments (geometric, trigonometric, photogrammetric, GPS devices, ...). Processing the measurement results. Instruments and accessories for recording details. Accessories for orthogonal recording of details, detailed level, theodolite tachometers, range meters, total stations. Methods of recording details. Orthogonal, polar, photogrammetric. Processing the measurement results. Special-purpose instruments. Giro-teodolite, Photo-theodolite, GPS devices, 3D laser scanner. Application of individual instruments.

Practical teaching
Centering and horizontaling instrument. Measurement of horizontal angles, processing of measurement results. Measurement of vertical angles, processing of measurement results. Measurement of length with pants, optical, base, electrooptic, electronic, laser distance meters. Indirect measurement length. Processing the measurement results. Measurement of height difference by geometric level, trigonometric leveling. Processing the measurement results. Record details with orthogonal method, detailed level. Recording details by the polar method (classical instruments). Processing the measurement results. Recording details with a polar method (modern instruments). Processing the measurement results. Demonstration of the work of special-purpose instruments.
