Course Objectives:
Acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of air protection.
Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge of legal regulations on air pollution and protection. Knowledge of the origin and properties of air pollutants. Identification of the type and properties of industrial sources of air pollution. Knowledge of air treatment technology. Ability to choose an adequate air treatment method.
Content:

Theory teaching
Air legislation: Air quality criteria and standards, emission standards, regulatory control elements, organizations responsible for air control. Origins and properties of air pollutants: Types of pollutants, Physical and chemical properties of pollutants. Industrial sources of air pollution: Mining processing industry, Chemical industry, Petroleum industry. Engineering control and air pollution management: Theoretical Basics of air treatment, Technology of air treatmant.

Practical teaching
Methods and instruments for measuring gaseous and solid partice pollutants. Methods and equipment for capture and treatment of gases, smoke and vapors. Design of an industrial air treatment system.
