Course Objectives: Student learn palaeontological research methods through individual practical work- by collecting fossil flora of a certain group of plants and the laboratory methods of preparing these types of fossil material for paleontological analysis. |
Learning Outcomes: Students gain knowledge and skills in collecting, determination and describing certain groups of fossil organisms; their stratigraphic and palaeoecological characteristics and importance. |
Content:
Theory teaching Methods of collecting, and methods of laboratory preparation for paleonthological analysis of a group fossil organisms that will be subject of the diploma thesis, conservation of palaeontological material, biostratigraphic and palaeoecological characteristics of a particular group of fossil organisms. Practical teaching Independent laboratory work on preparation of fossil material of certain groups of fossil organisms for paleontological analysis. |
