Course Objectives:
Getting knowledge about the application of minerals and significance of mineralogical investigations in the other science areas.
Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge and application mineralogical investigations and adequate processing their results can enable to the students to capable to successfully solve different geological problems, as well as some problems in other areas (technology, medicine, ecology, construction).
Content:

Theory teaching
The importance of mineralogical research in geology and other sciences. Mineralogy and archaeology. Archeometry. Mineralogy and technology. Contemporary materials. Mineralogy and Construction. Bonding materials, plasticizers. Mineralogy and architecture. Mineral composition of aggregates and binders in the restoration of buildings. Mineralogy and medicine.

Practical teaching
Students work independently, examine representative samples, record the results, critically comment.

Lectures: classical. Exercises: Students independently work on available instruments. At the end of the course, using the obtained results students write seminar work.
