Course Objectives:
Objective of the course: To acquire general knowledge on depositional systems and reconstruction of sedimentary processes.
Learning Outcomes:
Outcome of the course: Mastering basic knowledge related to the sediment deposition in various depositional systems.
Content:

Theory teaching
Construction of a lithostratigraphic column. Depositional systems (continental, transitional, shallowmarine systems. Sedimentation on the shelf, sedimentation on carbonate platforms, other forms of sedimentation on the shelf. Deepwater systems, types of sediments of the deep-water system. Criteria for the recognition of deposit systems.

Practical teaching
Exercises. Fieldwork exercise - making a lithostratigraphic column.
