Field Study in Petrology

Name of subject: Field Study in Petrology

Course Objectives:
Introducing with the field-work, geological equipment and with data that need to be collected during this research phase. Field-work should be held at illustrative profiles or exposures of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.
Learning Outcomes:
Qualifying for practical work in a field. Macroscopic determination of rocks, structural elements and relation with a neighboring units.
Content:

Theory teaching
Field researches. Main geological data for chosen localities.

Practical teaching
Macroscopic determination of rocks. Measuring of structural elements. Construction of cross-section or lithostratigraphic columns. Obligatory field-work report.
