Course Objectives: Acquiring knowledge in the field of preparation of mineral prognostic maps and metallogenic maps in different dimensions. Learning the principles and methods of metallogenic analysis and types of prognostic maps of mineral resources and method of their preparation. |
Learning Outcomes: Gaining specific knowledge in the field of applied metallogeny and prognostic estimates of mineral resources. |
Content:
Theory teaching Importance and role of metallogenic analysis in prognostic evaluation of mineral resources. Methods of regional metallogenic analysis. Distribution of mineral deposits in time and space. Regional metallogenic zonality. Formation analysis. Regional geochemistry, geophysics and metallogenic analysis. Erosional level and evaluation of prospectives of ore-bearing areas. Quantitative evaluation of mineral resources. Principles of metallogenic reonisation and classification of ore-bearing areas. Metallogeny of geosynclinal - folded areas, platforms, areas of tectono-magmatic activisation, the central massifs, sea and ocean floor. Plate tectonics and metallogeny. Types of prognostic metallogenic maps. The basis for prognostic maps. Methodology to prepare prognostic maps of mineral resources. Prognostic maps of mineral resources. Practical teaching Preparation of seminar work of selected chapters of the course. |
