Study program:
Geotechnics (X semester -MsC)
Name of subject: Foundation Engineering
Instructors:
Prof. Dragoslav Rakić
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: Soil Mechanics 2
Course Objectives:
Acquiring knowledge about special foundation methods in complex geotechnical conditions. Soil-structure interaction analysis.
Learning Outcomes:
Mastering complex knowledge for the purposes of foundation in complex geotechnical conditions.
Content:

Theory teaching
Settlement of shallow foundations based on clay; Settlement of shallow foundations based on sand; Analysis of bearing capacity of shallow foundations using Eurocode 7 standard; Bearing capacity of piles based on in situ test results (SPT and CPT); Load test of pile; Analysis of pile group; Settlement of a single pile and of a pile group; Bearing capacity analysis of piles using Eurocode 7 standard; Application of micropiles in foundation engineering; Application of jet grounding in foundations; Protection of open pits; Limit and allowable force in anchors. Stability analysis of a diaphragm. Diaphragm with anchors; Improvement of foundation soil; Strengthening of foundations; Remediation measures in foundation engineering; Geotechnical conditions for foundation in environmental protection; Monitoring of the foundation structures behaviour.

Practical teaching
Independent calculation exercises which include solving of examples that follow lecture material. Audio-visual demonstrations of structure foundations in complex geotechnical conditions in our country and in the world.
