Weathering - types, mechanism, dynamics, phenomena, research and investigation methodologies and approach, modelling and remediation. Planar erosion - characterisation of process and phenomena, theoretical research - quantification and modelling, investigation, engineering remediation measures. Stream erosion, process mechanism, types, quantification and modelling, torrential-flash floods, investigation and remedial measures. Mass movements - basic principles and classification. Landslides: Types of landslides; Conditional and triggering factors; mechanism and dynamics; Classification by type and material involved; Methodology of research and engineering investigation; remedial measures. Flow type landslides: basic properties, mechanism, methodology of investigation and remedial measures. Rock falls - mechanism and type of movement, methodology of investigation, remedial measures. Fluvial erosion - basic characteristics of process, phenomena and interaction with other slope processes. Seepage - basic characteristics, investigation, remediation.
