Study program:
Hidrogeology (VII semester -BsC) |
Name of subject: Groundwater Modeling 1 |
Instructors:
Prof. Dušan Polomčić, Prof. Dragoljub Bajić |
Status: Compulsory |
ECTS: 7 |
Prerequisites: - |
Course Objectives: The objective of this course is to meet with the types of models, the elements of the hydrodynamic model, the process of creating and the specifics of the models in various applications of the groundwater tapping, the methods of calculation for the verification of groundwater reserves for different purposes. |
Learning Outcomes: Training students to work on simple hydrodynamic models of groundwater flow. |
Content:
Theory teaching Basic equation of transient groundwater flow and analytical solutions. Types of model in hydrodynamic practice. Hydrogeological system. Hydrogeological (conceptual) model. Analytical models of flow of groundwater. Numerical methods for solving partial differential equations of groundwater flow. Hydrodynamic model: concept, elements and phases of model design. Diskretization of space. Boundary conditions. Model calibration. Model calibration errors. Sensitivity analysis of the model. Verification of the model. Forecast calculations. Basics of pollution transport model. Creation of reports on performed modeling. Practical teaching Exercises are followed by lectures. Practical tasks are performed that enable continuous monitoring of teaching units. It is planned to create homework tasks. |
