Study program:
Hidrogeology (VI semester -BsC) |
Name of subject: Groundwater Protection |
Instructors:
Prof. Vladimir Živanović, Prof. Igor Jemcov |
Status: Compulsory |
ECTS: 5 |
Prerequisites: - |
Course Objectives: Technogenic changes of the natural composition of groundwater and basic types of contaminants. Basic processes of interaction between contaminants, groundwater and geological environment. Basic equations of groundwater filtration and migration of contaminants. Determination of contamination parameters. Measures for groundwater protection against contamination. Determination of sanitary protection zones of groundwater. |
Learning Outcomes: Training students for the selection and design of the abstraction system, monitoring it’s work and planning activities of the operating groundwater sources. |
Content:
Theory teaching Elements, parameters and classification of groundwater sources. Application of hydrodynamic analysis in research for groundwater sources. Stages and optimization of research related to sources. Groundwater source location selection criteria. Types, characteristics and hydraulics of water supply objects. Following the technogenic processes of the groundwater sources. Monitoring work and information-management system of sources. Management and planning within the source. Guidelines for the certification of groundwater reserves. Specificity of sources in different hydrogeological environments. Springs with different types of groundwater. Practical teaching Lectures are followed by exercises. Practical tasks that enable continuous learning are performed. Practical lectures include homeworks. |
