Hydrogeological Drilling

Course Objectives:
Getting acquainted with devices and tools used for drilling wells, as an objects for the hydrogeological research of the environment, capture and exploitation of all types of groundwater. Methods of drilling in different types of wall masses, i.e. practically dealing with the profession.
Learning Outcomes:
Raising students knowledge and enabling better understanding of the research process and technology capture and exploitation of groundwater.
Content:

Theory teaching
The notion of exploration drill. Selection of drilling method, equipment and technologies. Use of fluid in drilling (clay mud, water and compressed air as fluids for drilling). Drills and drilling rigs, equipment and life saving tools. Directional drilling. Tamponing and cementing of wells. Geological and hydrogeological observations and measurements in the drilling process. Sampling of the core for laboratory testing. Hydrogeological observations and measurements in the drilling process. Carotid measurements. Designing an exploration well

Conduct of the Course:
Combination of oral presentation and table, with projection of pre-prepared images. Permanent check of the understanding of lectures and knowledge of previously transmitted material. All teaching obligations end in time and practical instruction in the field, except for additional learning.
