Study program:
Hidrogeology (V semester -BsC) |
Name of subject: Hydraulic of Wells |
Instructors:
Prof. Dragoljub Bajić, Prof. Dušan Polomčić |
Status: Compulsory |
ECTS: 7 |
Prerequisites: - |
Course Objectives: Objective: To get acquainted and master the basic theory and application of wells hydraulics in practice, with a special emphasis on exploratory pumping and elements of well design.
Educational Contribution: Combining theoretical knowledge and engineering approach to solving problems, understanding and adapting known methods of solving possible real situations. |
Learning Outcomes: Mastering the techniques of calculating the effects of the wells, designing, planning, realizing and interpreting the data of the pumping well test. |
Content:
Theory teaching Radial flow in stationary conditions, both in confined and unconfined aquifers, combined aquifers with the involvement of infiltration, pouring, digging a well. Operation of the group of wells, method of mirror images. Radial flow in transient conditions, the derivation of differential equations, the solution of the Thysses and the application. Radius of influence of of wells. Superposition of radial transient flow. Additional hydraulic losses in the well and the screen zone. Aging wells, some criteria for the assessment of the cause. Elements of projecting wells, input velocities. Well pumps. Graphoanalytical methods for processing data from pumping test. Conception, installation and realization of pumping well tests. Testing wells in exploitation conditions. Application of computers in the processing of data of the abstract pumping, example of an application in MS Excel. Practical teaching Exercises are followed by lectures. Practical tasks are performed that enable continuous monitoring of teaching units. It is planned to create homework tasks. |

Conduct of the Course: Within the curriculum (6 hours), first you will be checking the knowledge of the material from the previous lecture. Then follows the lecture of new material, as a combination of oral exposure and display on the board, with a projection of prepared images and examples. In the end, tasks are being worked out, the understanding of the lectures is conducted, and preparations are made to check the knowledge of the future. Pre-examination obligations end in time, except for the necessary learning outside the classroom. |
