General Hydrology

Course Objectives:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basics of water science - hydrology and its connection with other sciences. In addition to the hydrological cycle and analysis of the basic elements of the river basins, through this course the student is introduced to basic climate parameters, methods and tools for measuring and observing hydrological phenomena, data processing and basic water balance elements. He is also familiar with the basics of statistics and probability as well as linear regression. As well as, students learn learns the basics of statistics and probability as well as linear regression.
Learning Outcomes:
Getting basic knowledge of hydrology, hydrometeorology and hydrometry.
Content:

Theory teaching
The subject and tasks of hydrology and the field of application. The water cycle - water circulation in nature. The basic elements of river basins. Basic climatic characteristics, air temperature and soil temperature, precipitation, evaporation. Measuring water, depth and water velocity.

Practical teaching
Practical part during course completely follow the theoretical part of lectures. They are designed on a way how to theoretical part of the course look in practices, and they are follow specific field from theoretical part of lectures
