Name of subject: Geology of Serbia
Instructors:
Prof. Ljupko Rundić, Jelena Stefanović
Status: Optional
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
Acquisition of general knowledge about tectonic zonation of Serbia and development of scientific thought in relation to geological structure and tectonics of Serbia, as part of the Balkan Peninsula.
Learning Outcomes:
After mastering the course, the student should be familiar with all the major tectonic units of Serbia and their internal structure.
Content:

Theory teaching
Study the position of Serbia in the tectonic scheme of the Alps and Europe. Study of geological structure and separation of main tectonostratigraphic units such as the Serbian-Macedonian mass, Carpathians-Balkanides, Dinarides and Pannonian basins with intracontinental basins. Within the above units, the synthetic reviews of the opinion and understanding of the geological fabric of our space, the internal structure of the tectonostratigraphic units, the tectonic characteristics, metamorphism and magmatism are presented.

Practical teaching
Exercises refer to independent work on individual issues of the tectonostratigraphic units as well as field work at the base and in the form of field trips.
