Power Transmission on Mining Machines

Study program:
Mine Mechanization (IX semester -MsC)
Name of subject: Power Transmission on Mining Machines
Instructors:
Prof. Predrag Jovančić, Dr Stevan Đenadić
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 6
Prerequisites: Completion of undergraduate studies.
Course Objectives:
After completing the course, students are trained to independently design, execute, exploit and maintain plants, where power transfer units on mining machines are one of the most important elements.
Learning Outcomes:
Passed the exam, with active knowledge. Competence for responsible behavior in the exploitation and maintenance of mining and energy equipment. After successfully mastered obligations, each student should understand and know the place and importance of technical diagnostics and its methods, so that he can assess the state and behavior of the technical system based on the measured parameters, in order to improve the working ability of the technical systems.
Content:

Theory teaching
Definition of power transmission from the drive motor to the working body strength is a very important job in the design of many devices used in excavation, loading, transportation, processing and depositing mineral resources. Through the teaching that encompasses theoretical basics, the representation of the characteristics of the components (mechanical, hydraulic and electrical) as well as the whole of the whole, the student is familiar with these circuits, primarily with the goal of successfully exploiting, maintaining and realizing these power transmissions. The number of different technical solutions imposes the need to know how individual, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical, solutions, and a combination of several different solutions. The main emphasis is given on the harmonious compilation of the gear unit as a whole. Possible analyzes are the motor-gear-coupled power-working organs, i.e. power transmissions of different performances, both on stationary and mobile units, were analyzed. Great attention was paid to the analysis of the dynamic behavior of the gearbox within the working body, with the aim of finding the optimal solution. Exploitation, servicing and maintenance of power transmissions is devoted to a significant part of teaching. The main goal is to enable the student to quickly acquire the acquired knowledge in practice on tasks related to exploitation and maintenance of machinery in mining.

Practical teaching
At the exercises, students take three colloquiums. Students have the right to take a colloquium only once. There is only one correctional colloquium at the end of the semester. In the remaining hours of the exercises, examples and practices are worked out. The exercises will use the ability to use exact data from measurements on real systems from practice. The labs show the elements that are being studied, as well as the experiments, in accordance with the existing equipment.

Conduct of the Course:
Teaching is carried out through lectures, auditory and laboratory exercises, using modern teaching tools. Throughout the study case, examples from the field of mining and energy are processed through the case study, which provides a wide range of practical technical knowledge for independent work in the field of technical diagnostics. The most advanced measuring equipment and software are used for performing exercises.
