Mining Equipment Maintenance

Study program:
Mine Mechanization (VIII semester -BsC)
Surface Mining of Mineral Deposits (VIII semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Mining Equipment Maintenance
Instructors:
Prof. Predrag Jovančić, Dr Stevan Đenadić
Status: Optional
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: Does not have.
Course Objectives:
Introduction to the concepts, place and role of mining machinery maintenance in the mining industry. The basic principles of maintenance are based on protection of investments of mines through care and maintenance of machines and equipment, buildings and real estate. Maintenance justifies its role through appropriate work in order to maximize the capabilities of machines and devices in order to fulfill working conditions and production in the mine and thus optimally restore investments.
Learning Outcomes:
The acquired knowledge enables an adequate approach to meeting the requirements for maintenance of mining machines. By mastering the program content students gain the necessary knowledge base on the maintenance of mining machines. Understanding the function of maintaining modern mining technical systems, current terminology as well as knowledge of modern methods used in the field of maintenance. Ability for independent, creative work within the function of maintenance in mining.
Content:

Theory teaching
The goals of maintenance of technical systems in mining. Basic principles of maintenance of mining machines. Maintenance engineering and operation safety. System approach to maintenance. The concept of a technical system. The life cycle of the technical system. Costs lifetime. The process of maintenance of the technical system. Management and maintenance control. Maintenance systems. Methodology of maintenance. Maintenance concept. Organization of maintenance. Maintenance technology with application of technical diagnostics. Logistics and Integral Logistics Support. Modeling and optimization of the maintenance system. Maintenance costs. Characteristics of the maintenance system - reliability. Analysis and evaluation of the maintenance system. Design of technical maintenance systems. The management of spare parts. Installation of mining machinery. Tribology. Lubrication. Volume fractures - damage to the elements. Information systems in maintenance.

Practical teaching
At the exercises, students take three colloquiums. Students have the right to take a colloquium only once. There is only one correctional colloquium at the end of the semester. In the remaining hours of the exercises, examples and practices are worked out. The exercises will use the ability to use exact data from measurements on real systems from practice. Support of maintenance information systems. Through practical examples, advanced maintenance methods will be processed (proactive, total productive maintenance, etc.). Students will be trained in basic field research.
