Parameter Optimization of Underground Mining Methods 2

Study program:
Mining Engineering (III semester -PhD)
Name of subject: Parameter Optimization of Underground Mining Methods 2
Instructors:
Prof. Branko Gluščević
Status: Optional
ECTS: 10
Prerequisites: Technology of underground exploitation of coal deposits, Methods of Underground Exploitation.
Course Objectives:
Theoretical knowledge gained from basic studies related to long-wall excavation is the main objective of the course. This coincides with the tendency for students to become familiar with scientific methods, techniques and tools for studying the process of long-wall excavation.
Learning Outcomes:
Theoretical and expert knowledge necessary for studying the subsystem of excavation in the mine system as a production and organizational environment.
Content:

Theory teaching
Long-wall excavation methods are predominantly applied in the underground exploitation of coal deposits in the world, and sometimes in the exploitation of metallic and non-metallic mineral raw materials. The technological process of excavation is based on the application of complex mechanization of all working operations in excavation and wider. This requires a high level of investment in machinery, appliances and mining facilities and facilities. Optimal selection of excavation machinery and constructive digging parameters enables optimum technical and economic parameters of excavation and reduces the risks of reconstructing the active mine or building a new one. In the optimization process, many methods of operational research are used, and as the criteria for optimization are the most often value criteria.

Practical teaching
Exercises follow the method units from the lectures.
