Study program:
Geotechnics (II semester -PhD) Mining Engineering (II semester -PhD) |
Name of subject: Selected Topics in Physics |
Instructors:
Prof. Vesna Damnjanović |
Status: Optional |
ECTS: 10 |
Prerequisites: Prerequisites – nil |
Course Objectives: Gaining knowledge about specific areas of physics, as required for the understanding of complex engineering problems. |
Learning Outcomes: A high level of mining engineers’ knowledge about: a) the nature, detection methods and protection from ionizing radiation, in order to apply this knowledge in mining, consistent with professional standards and safety-at-work regulations; and b) mechanical waves as a result of mining. |
Content:
Theory teaching Select areas of physics, related to the topic of the thesis: ionizing radiation (relevant to the protection therefrom); and oscillatory and wave processes (relevant to the understanding of elastic wave origin and propagation). Practical teaching Students’ individual work. Term paper. |
