Study program:
Underground Construction (IX semester -MsC) |
Name of subject: Supporting Materials |
Instructors:
Prof. Rade Tokalić, Dr Luka Crnogorac |
Status: Compulsory |
ECTS: 6 |
Prerequisites: none |
Course Objectives: Introducing the characteristic features of the materials for support and predicting their behavior in different exploitation conditions. The acquired knowledge enables the selection of materials for a particular support system, quality and durability testing of materials in various working areas of mining premises. Research into the acquisition of new materials and improvement of the properties of conventional materials. |
Learning Outcomes: The acquired knowledge enables the selection and verification of the quality of materials for a particular support system. Application of theoretical knowledge for designing, dimensioning and checking the durability of materials in various working environments of mining and other underground facilities. |
Content:
Theory teaching Within this course, classical and modern materials for the production of various types of support systems for the protection of underground mining facilities are being studied. From the classical materials, the following are being studied: wooden, steel and reinforced concrete substructure, and from modern materials: structural thermostable plasma mass, epoxy resin for fixing anchors, synthetic resins as an element of double layers, polymer fibrous composites etc. The properties, the way of production and the durability of the materials for support systems are of great importance for the stability of the underground facilities. Application of theoretical knowledge to the calculations useful for industrial purposes. Practical teaching Testing of the properties of steel, wood, stone aggregates of cement and concrete. Getting to know the characteristics of plas masses and composite materials. |
