Environmental Noise

Study program:
Environmental Engineering (VIII semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Environmental Noise
Instructors:
Prof. Aleksandar Cvjetić, Uroš Pantelić
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
Acquiring practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of environmental noise measurement and control.
Learning Outcomes:
Ability to plan and select the appropriate measures of protection against excessive environmental noise. Knowledge of legislation related to measuring and assessment of environmental noise. Skills for noise measurement, interpretation and processing of results.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introduction to Acoustics: The Basics of Acoustics. Units of sound. Noise level calculation method. Influence of hips on man: Anatomy of the listening organs. Audit response to sound stimulus. Measurement and assessment of noise: Measurement of noise parameters. Noise measurement equipment. Measuring techniques. Impact assessment. Boot prediction. Noise in the environment: Noise sources. Models for forecasting noise. Noise control: General noise control principles. Noise reduction - general principles. Noise Management - Noise Control Practice.

Practical teaching
Legislation (regulations and standards) related to measurement and evaluation of noise and vibration. Measurement procedures, selection of measuring points, interpretation and processing of results, preparation of reports. Practical noise measurement. Noise management - measures and procedures for limiting noise: barriers (types of barriers, design principles and choice of places for their installation), personal protective equipment (choice, method of use). Vibration measurement methods, selection of measuring points, interpretation and processing of results, preparation of reports. Practical vibration measurements. Measures and procedures for limiting vibration: constructive measures (principles and methods of application), personal protective equipment (choice, method of use).
