Course Objectives:
Acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of air pollution and protection.
Learning Outcomes:
Understanding the types and sources of air pollution. Knowledge of methods and instruments for measuring the concentration of air pollutants and understanding their impact on health and the environment. Getting acquainted with regulations that regulate air pollution. Knowing the meteorological factors that affect air quality. Knowing the methods of air quality control.
Content:

Theory teaching
Air pollution elements: Atmosphere and air pollution, Air quality, Air pollution sources. Effects of air pollution: Effects on human health, Effects on flora and fauna, Effects on materials and structure, Effects on the atmosphere, soil, water and aquatic areas, Long-term effects on the planet. Air pollution measurement and monitoring: Air sampling, Air pollutants: analysis and measurement, Air pollution monitoring. Basics of meteorology: Physics atmosphere, Meteorological basics of atmospheric pollution, Transport and dispersion of pollutants, Modeling and prediction of air pollution. Regulatory control of air pollution: Air quality criteria and standards, Emission standards, Regulatory control elements, Organizations responsible for air pollution control. Engineering control and management of aerospace processes: Concepts of engineering controls, Control devices and systems, Stationary source control, Mobile source control.

Practical teaching
Methods and instruments for measuring meteorological parameters. Methods and instruments for measuring gaseous and particle pollutants. Methods and equipment for capturing and treatment of gases, fumes and steam.
