Study program:
Hidrogeology (IX semester -MsC) |
Name of subject: Groundwater Modeling 2 |
Instructors:
Prof. Dušan Polomčić |
Status: Optional |
ECTS: 6 |
Prerequisites: - |
Course Objectives: The objective of this course is to meet with the modeling of complex conditions of groundwater flow and related processes, introduction with program packages for this purpose. |
Learning Outcomes: Training students to work on more complex hydrodynamic models of groundwater flow, fate models and heat transfer models. |
Content:
Theory teaching Modeling the transient groundwater regime. Discretization of time. Transient model calibration. Model calibration errors. Forecast calculations. Modeling the transport of an ideal tracer. Software packages for particle tracking model. Processes of transport of matter in a saturated porous environment. Basic equation of transport of matter in a saturated porous medium. Modeling the transport of pollutants. Boundary conditions for fate models. Calibration of the transport model. Program packages for transport of pollution. Modeling the remediation of groundwater. Creation of reports on performed modeling. Practical teaching Exercises are followed by lectures. It works on the computer. |
