Study program:
Economic Geology (VII semester -MsC) Minerology and Crystallography (IX semester -MsC) |
Name of subject: Mineral Paragenesis of Ore Minerals |
Instructors:
Prof. Aleksandar Pačevski |
Status: Optional |
ECTS: 5 |
Prerequisites: - |
Course Objectives: The objective of this course is to introduce students to the characteristic associations of ore minerals, which are the product of complex geological processes of the formation of rock and ore. |
Learning Outcomes: Acquiring knowledge about characteristic associations of ore minerals, based on their optical, structural and texture characteristics and ore texture. |
Content:
Theory teaching Basic concepts in the field of mineral paragenesis. Mineral association and mineral paragenesis. Structural-textural characteristics and ore structure, as a consequence of these conditions and their importance for the interpretation of mineral paragenesis and ore enrichment. Mineral paragenesis in the intramagmatic stage. Pegmatite-pneumatolic stage. Hydrothermal stage. Subvolcanic-hydrothermal stage. Mineral paragenesis in the sedimentary stage. Contact metamorphic stage. Regional metamorphic stage. Practical teaching Practical, microscopic, using an existing collection of polished preparations |
