Course Objectives: Introduction to basic thermodynamic principles relevant to petrology, the character of magma and the physico-chemical processes of formation of magmatic, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks based on experimental and theoretical considerations and their application to natural systems. |

Conduct of the Course: Lectures in power point presentations. Exercises: demonstration of the method of testing, application and solving of the given problems (mathematical calculations of petrogenetic parameters, phase diagrams of crystallization and melting, AKF and ACF diagrams, discriminating diagrams, solutions of given problems: interactive discussion in order to overcome the given objective. |
