Course Objectives: Presentation and adoption of knowledge of general science methodology, and reporting of scientific research works in hydrogeology |
Learning Outcomes: Adopted theoretical knowledge and created preconditions for scientific and practical works in hydrogeology. Candidates are able to create conception and organize researches, use of literature data and properly referencing. |
Content:
Theory teaching Science and research. The role of researchers. Scientific method and methods. Inductive and deductive methods. Scientific knowledge and problems. Hypotheses and explanations of facts. Scientific prediction and discovery. Evidence and refutation. Phases of scientific research in geology and hydrogeology: Selection and definition of the research problem. Study and use of technical documentation and published literature, in particular referencing and authorization. Design and realization of research. Processing results. Reporting. Publication of works. Ethics in science. Control and monitoring solutions. |

Conduct of the Course: The combination of oral exposure and PPS pre-prepared presentations. Checking the knowledge from previous material. All teaching obligations end in hours, except for additional learning for the exam. Students practice their own literary sources independently and write one professional paper on the subject. |
