Conditions for enrolment  

Finished high school education in a four years period and passed entrance exam.

Study programme objectives  

» Education of engineers competent for performing professional jobs in the area of environmental protection (examination and establishing of soil, water and air pollution level); control of pollution impact on environment; planning, choosing and implementing of certain environmental protection technologies; geo-mechanical examination and selection of location for waste depositing, storing, and disposal; problem-solving connected to the problems of waste waters purification; quality monitoring – environmental monitoring for prevention of pollution; remediation and re-cultivation of degraded surfaces; preparation and recycling of industrial waste; solving the problem of noise in environment; planning and designing of environmental protection systems;
» Development of creative abilities and approaches in considering and solving professional problems regarding environmental protection;
» Acquiring abilities necessary for independent and team work and data presentation;
» Providing a fundamental knowledge necessary for following the lessons at higher levels of studies (master and doctoral studies);
» Creating habits for permanent education and improvement in the area of environmental protection.

Future approach  

A degree holder may enrol in master academic studies.

Professional status  

B. Sc. in Environmental Engineering The students who have successfully finished this study programme are able to do the following in the area of environmental protection:
» Understand and implement fundamental knowledge in solving engineering problems in the area of environmental protection (waste management, designing of degraded surfaces remediation, preparation and recycling of industrial waste, waste waters purification, designing of air protection, designing of protection from noise and vibrations, solving the problems of monitoring in the environment, designing environmental protection systems);
» Understand, notice, formulate, and solve engineering problems in the area of environmental protection;
» Use techniques, skills, and contemporary programme tools in the engineering practice;
» Design and implement engineering measures, and then analyse and interpret the achieved results;
» Work individually or in a team on solving professional problems and communicate efficiently with the experts of various profiles;
» Improve their knowledge and follow the development of technics and technology in multi-disciplinary area of environmental protection;
» Have professional and ethical responsibility in the process of solving environmental protection problems and understand the impact of engineering solutions on the society and environment.
