Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to expand the acquired knowledge from the drilling and blasting technology from undergraduate and master studies through selected chapters and the realization of research that is predicted by doctoral dissertation.
Learning Outcomes:
Acquiring knowledge from some specific fields of drilling and blasting, which can later be applied in practice.
Content:

Theory teaching
1. Modern blasthole drilling methods(1 working week) 2. Optimization of drilling parameters. (1 working week) 3. Theoretical consideration of the explosion mechanism. Distribution of explosive energy in the blast. (1 working week) 4. Non-conventional blasting methods for the exploitation of mineral deposits (2 working weeks) 5. Non-explosive fuel mixture (2 working weeks) 6. Metal processing by explosion energy (1 working week) 7. Application of cumulative charges in order to perforate oil wells. (1 working week) 8. Systems for programmed initiation of electric detonator networks. (2 working weeks) 9. Interpretation and analysis of seismic effect of blasting(1 working week) 10. Optimization of blasting parameters in order to reduce the ground vibrations. (1 working week) 11. Influence of discontinuity - artificial screen on the stress wave propagation (1 working week) 12. Airblast as a result of blasting. (1 working week)

Practical teaching
Acquiring knowledge from some specific fields of drilling and blasting through seminar work, which can later be applied in practice.
