Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the interconnectedness of tectonics and sedimentation, to identify structural-tectonic content based on sedimentation characteristics and to interpret the tectono-depositional evolution of the basin spaces.
Learning Outcomes:
Students are trained for the reconstruction of tectonic-depositional system and interpretation of the tectonic evolution of the basin on the basis of the characteristics of sediments.
Content:

Theory teaching
Introduction, Methods of work, Analysis of facies, formations, thickness and discordance in the function of studying tectonic regimes, paleo-structure maps and profiles, index maps of sedimentary subsidence, comparative analysis of thickness variations and composition of sediments on tectonic structures; Classical deposit systems and tectonics. Characteristics of sediments on con-sedimentary structures; catagenesis and epigenetic transformations of sedimentary rocks on tectonic structures; structural-lithostratigraphic research in the function of researching deposits of mineral resources and solving other geological problems. Synthesis and post-deposition tectonic evolution of basins.

Practical teaching
Exercises-independent processing and presentation of selected topics, consultations, and discussion of practical problems. Solving practical problems of identifying the connection of tectonic structures and cogenetic types of sediments.
