Reconstruction of Paleoenvironment

Course Objectives:
Getting to know different methods for reconstruction of landscapes during the Earth’s past.
Learning Outcomes:
Concrete reconstructions of physico-geographical circumstances of particular areas in the course of some epochs in the development of our planet and their application to other geological disciplines.
Content:

Theory teaching
Methods of palaeoreconstructions. Reconstruction of land palaeoenvironment. Reconstruction of palaeoenvironment of sedimentation basins. Reconstruction of humidity, air pressure and direction of wind movement. Reconstruction of palaeoclimate. Method of isotopic palaeotermometry. Graphic display palaeoenvironment.

Practical teaching
Video projections of scientific series important for certain paleo-structures. Demonstration of paleogeographical sketches and atlases. Development of a method of reconstruction in the form of independent work. Reconstruction of a specific environment based on available data.
