Course Objectives:
Global tectonic systems, their evolution, structures and significance for regional geological evolution.
Learning Outcomes:
Acquiring theoretical knowledge of tectonic systems and their effects on the tectonic evolution of the region of Europe.
Content:

Theory teaching
Tectonic systems in general. Deformation styles and tectonic ambiances. Compression tectonic systems. Continental Collision. Extensional tectonic systems. Tectonic systems of transcurrent fault. Inversion tectonics. Tectonics of platforms. Tectonic systems of European lithosphere. Modern tectonic systems in SE Europe.

Practical teaching
Analysis of practical problems that correspond with the topic of a doctoral dissertation, discussion of the significance of data and incorporation of research results into tectonic models.
