Field Study in Geophysics 1

Study program:
Geophysics (VIII semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Field Study in Geophysics 1
Instructors:
Prof. Vesna Cvetkov, Branislav Sretković
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 4
Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
The course aims at mastering technology acquisition of geophysical data and complete the process of preparing, which includes introduction to instruments, measurement techniques, preparation of background needed for field work. The entire process is carried out in the practical application of geophysical research within different types of geological explorations.
Learning Outcomes:
The outcome of the course is that the student is able to independently perform geophysical measurements and understand the collected data. Also, at this level, the student has the basis to improve for more complex situations, which interfere with the process of processing and interpretation.
Content:

Theory teaching
Analysis of geophysical research project. Preparation of documentation needed for fieldwork. Preparation of a geological map, topographic map for fieldwork. Forming a team for each method. Finding documentation. Checking the equipment for field measurements. Calibration of instruments. Field work. Setting the profile or network of measuring points. Measuring technique. Taking samples. Keeping records on the ground. Field data processing.

Practical teaching
Complete theoretical lessons are applied in practice, on the field, and the result is a study on the performed field measurements.
