Transformations of Potential Fields

Study program:
Geophysics (VIII semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Transformations of Potential Fields
Instructors:
Dr Snežana Ignjatović
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 5
Prerequisites: Fundamentals of Gravimetry,Fundamentals of Geomagnetism
Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is mastering the transformation processes in the application of physical fields in geophysical research, to create more consistent initial model by means of interpretation.
Learning Outcomes:
The result of the course is that the student is able to define ways of applying physical fields within various types of geological research.
Content:

Theory teaching
Conversion magnetic quantities in the vertical and horizontal component of gravity, and vice versa. Extension fields in the gravimetric, geomagnetic and geoelectric tests. The reduction of gravity anomalies defined on the real level of the horizontal plane. Method of standardized gradient. Hanning filter. The transformation of the anomalies in the process of determining the frequency filtering and spectrum determination. The spectral representation of derivative of gravity and magnetic potential. Separating of fields as process of frequency filtering. Character filter in the spatial domain. DFT. Errors in the application of DFT.

Practical teaching
Application of existing programs to the specific data. Analysis of the data obtained. Writing of seminar paper.
