Igneous Complexes and Formations - Selected chapters

Study program:
Geology (II semester -PhD)
Hidrogeology (II semester -PhD)
Name of subject: Igneous Complexes and Formations - Selected chapters
Instructors:
Prof. Kristina Šarić
Status: Optional
ECTS: 10
Prerequisites: -
Course Objectives:
Introduction with petrogenetical processes of genesis of igneous formations which differ in rock composition and geological settings.
Learning Outcomes:
Qualifing of a candidate for processing of large amount of literature data about different igneous complexes and formation. Qualifing for sythesis of the data with planing of independent research in studied areas.
Content:

Theory teaching
Explanations about genesis of geological formations in various geodynamic conditions. Overview of correlation between igneous formation together with presented rock types with geodynamic conditions. Processing of material related to selected chapetrs: elaboration of relevant literature related to the particular igneous formations and complexes, research of geodynamic interpretations of origin and evolution of investigated areas on the base of petrological, mineralogical and geochemical data.

Practical teaching
Creating of data bases for particular igneous complexes. Modelling of different igneous processes typical for research of specific igneous formations and complexes; processing of available data acquired by different methods and geological disciplines.
