Mathematics 2

Study program:
Environmental Engineering (III semester -BsC)
Mining Engineering (III semester -BsC)
Petroleum Engineering (III semester -BsC)
Name of subject: Mathematics 2
Instructors:
Prof. Dejan Ćebić, MSc Maja Ristić
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 8
Prerequisites: Mathematics 1
Course Objectives:
Introduction of the basic elements of Mathematics necessary for engineers
Learning Outcomes:
Students will master of the application of a mathematical apparatus for solving engineering problems
Content:

Theory teaching
The course starts with the real function of a real variable, infinite number series, the concept of limit value, and of the continuity of a function. Afterwards students study the concept of derivatives and differentials and sketching the graph of a function. There are indefinite and definite integrals, their properties, and the application of a definite integral, and real functions of more real variables. In the field of differential equations, differential equations of the first order and differential equations of higher order are studied.

Practical teaching
Any subject of the theoretical part of the course will be followed by solving of the selected problems.
