Course Objectives:
Passing this course students should be able to recognize and solve problems in domain of stability of underground stopes and openings.
Learning Outcomes:
Students should be able to successfully use analytical, empirical and numerical methods for stability and caveability assessment.
Content:

Theory teaching
Rock mass description. Rock mass classification. Strength and deformability of rock mass. Modelling of rock mass and underground openings. Bolting. Cable bolts. Shotcreting. Stability and determination of support. Pillar stability assessment. Stability assessment using NATM. Caveability. Rock bursts. Subsidence.
