Name of subject: Surface Mining Systems
Instructors:
Prof. Dejan Stevanović, Prof. Mirjana Banković
Status: Compulsory
ECTS: 6
Prerequisites: Completed course of Surface Mining Transportation Systems, Surface mining equipment and Surface mining technology.
Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is to teach the students about mining methods, surface mining systems and principles of system selection.
Learning Outcomes:
Successful completion of the course should enable the students to: -Successfully select equipment, -Harmonize the technical and technological parameters of the equipment in the system, -Implement system dimensioning methods.
Content:

Theory teaching
In theory classes, students will learn about: -System classification; -Elements of the mining systems and system technical characteristics, -Conditions for application of the system in surface mining; -Selection of equipment in systems and system design and harmonization of equipment in the system; -Technical-technological and economic aspects of system implementation; -Economic evaluation of the exploitation system

Practical teaching
Students solve problems related to selection and dimensioning of surface mining systems in form of individual and group mining project.
