Course Objectives:
Course aims is the acquisition of professional competencies in the drilling of deep oil and gas wells, and also competence in higher vocational education.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing the course, students should know the structure of the process of drilling wells. from basic preparatory work for drilling to finish well drilling.
Content:

Theory teaching
Objectives of wells. The concept of technical, technological and geological parameters. Physical and chemical properties of the rocks that is important during drilling. Drilling methods. The drilling fluid: functions of mud during drilling, the basic types of drilling fluids, additives and rheology. Cement mixtures for fixing the walls of the borehole. Description and operation of basic drilling rig components. Instruments and control devices of drilling rig. Running the casing into the hole and cementing. The technology of drilling and coring.

Practical teaching
Preparation and control the relevant fluid properties, introduction of measurement and measuring instruments. Calculations of hydraulic energy during flushing and removal cuttings. Selection of tools and equipment for rotary drilling.
